Affiliate disclosure
Some of the guides on this site — mainly in our Homeowner Tools series — contain affiliate links. This page explains what that means, in plain language, because we'd rather you hear it from us than wonder.
The short version
Some links in our guides point to products on Amazon. If you click one and buy something, Ivy may earn a commission from Amazon. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd gone to Amazon directly.
How we choose what to recommend
Our guides are editorial. They're written to explain how to choose a category of tool — what it does, what to look for, and the honest trade-offs — and the recommendations follow from that, not from any program. No company pays us to feature its product, and a product being part of an affiliate program is never the reason it appears in a guide. If a link happened to earn us nothing, the advice would stand exactly the same.
The Amazon program
Ivy Home Improvement is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Where a guide contains affiliate links, you'll find a short note saying so near the top of the article, linking back here.
Prices
Prices and availability on Amazon change over time. We don't quote prices in our guides; the price shown on Amazon when you check out is the one that applies.
Questions
If anything about this is unclear, ask us — through the contact page or the chat on this site. We'd rather explain it twice than have you guess once.
Have a project in mind?
Tell us what you're planning — kitchen, bathroom, floors, or a list of repairs — and we'll arrange a site visit and a written quote.
